Visit 2 or more of your local paint and wallpaper stores, and ask if they will give you a wallpaper sample book for children’s crafts.  If they don’t have any available when you visit, ask if they will call you when one is available.  These are invaluable for all kinds of projects that will make wonderful gifts.  While you’re there, ask if you can have some paint sample strips as well.  If you sew, ask for upholstery swatch sample books also.
